Using Visual Tools to Support Group Process
Have you recently seen someone bring their meetings alive by using colorful charts in creative ways and thought … “I want to do that!” What if you could support your client’s innovation needs by bringing professional and practical tools and techniques? Is this that moment you’ve been waiting for to refresh your personal design and flipchart skills?
Then come join us in this highly engaging and interactive session. As a participant for a morning, you will learn the many ways in which visual language tools will make your group meetings and workshops more productive, impactful, memorable and fun.
Visual language techniques have become a standard for engaging participants in a dynamic learning experience. Move beyond the PowerPoint slide deck to the information-rich world of interactive experiences that you can design and deliver yourself. This workshop is the place to give your right brain a time and place to practice and play!
In this session, we will:
- Get grounded in the fundamentals of visual language principles, methods and skills for use in settings when people need to literally “see what they mean” to build collaboration and trust.
- Build on your current competencies to take your practice to another level in
o Listening for meaning
o Visualizing information
o Writing and drawing at the flip chart
o Creating information-rich environment for
group learning
- Practice and receive feedback in a safe and supportive environment
- Fill your toolbox with multimedia tools, techniques and processes to generate dialogue, create alignment, describe a vision, and ignite action.
About the Presenter: Joan McIntosh
Joan is an Organization Development consultant and coach with over 30 years of expertise in designing, developing and delivering productive team and leadership experiences using visual language techniques. She is a Senior Associate with The Grove Consultants International, the world leader in the use of visual tools and processes. For many years, Joan has taught the fundamentals of graphic facilitation for The Grove and in working with companies such as Medtronic, 3M, National Semiconductor, Hewlett Packard, CaringBridge and many others.
